CLARA MUSIC THERAPY
A Music Therapy Blog
I am a music therapist currently working with children with special needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Down's syndrome, and profound and multiple learning disabilities, among other diagnoses. I also work with adults living with dementia in care homes, however the focus of this blog is my work with children and young people.
I work in the Cambridgeshire area and enjoy raising awareness of music therapy as I strongly believe that, although still a small profession, it is of great value for people who have differing or limited means of communicating and expressing themselves.
If you don't know much about music therapy, I hope that by reading some of the case studies on this blog you might understand a little more. Families of the children and young people written about here have given their consent and all names have been changed.
